Drayton Parish Council Committees
The council operates seven committees to deal with parish business, each of which is described below. If you have any questions or issues that you would like to raise with a particular committee, please contact the appropriate committee directly, or alternatively, you may contact the Parish Council clerk.
Planning – (Chairman: Lionel Wilkinson)
To view all plans for the Parish and to make sure the application is within the Parish plan and is not a detriment on the Parish. The Parish Council can only give their views; the final decision is down to Broadland Council.
Highways (Chairman: Jeff Anderson)
To report on all matters on the Highway and report to the Norfolk County Council all concerns, including potholes road speeds accident black spots and suggestions of improvements on our Highways.
Environment (Chairwoman: Hilary Kisby)
This is all environmental concerns. Footpaths, trees, litter bins benches and public walkways are controlled by this committee. Recycling is again a big concern and the Parish Council encourages this fully.
Staffing (Chairman: William Morgan)
As it is called, this Committee deals with all Staffing matters.
Playing Fields (Chairman: Jeff Anderson)
Drayton Parish Councils two playing fields (King George the fifth and Longdale at Thorpe Marriott.) The Committee’s aim is to provide good facilities and this season 2009-2020 we have had 12 different teams use our Football fields. The Council has many plans to improve these facilities. The Longdale Fun day is part run by this committee and residents of Longdale. Do not forget the event is on 28th June commencing at 10am at Longdale, this year.
Newsletter (Chairman: Anthony Thompson)
This committee plans your quarterly Chronicle and its contents. As you have no doubt noticed, a lot of work has been put into the new look magazine and it is now one of the best around.
Finance (Chairman: Jeff Anderson)
The purse strings of the Council are decided by this Committee, each member represents one of the other six committees of the Council to put their side of any money requested to be spent.
